Póvoa de Varzim is a Portuguese city in Northern Portugal and sub-region of Greater Porto, 30 km from its city centre.  The town's main appeal is the beautiful long beach of gold sand and clear water.   The town has a historic centre and pleasant shopping streets.  The Portuguese Camino passes right outside the hotel.

Connected by metro Line B from the centre of Porto means you can easily visit the UNESCO world heritage listed city of Porto too!

The closest airport is Porto airport (OPO) and is situated 27.9 km from the venue Axis Vermar Conference & Beach Hotel.  There are flights to Porto from several European cities.  

A taxi from Porto airport to the venue Axis Vermar Conferenece & Beach Hotel will be around €20 - €25.

From airport take 602 bus to Pedras Rubras. Cost €1.

Travel by metro Line B from Pedras Rubras for 30min to Povoa de Varzim. Cost €2-3.  This is a light rail; it looks like a long tram.

Use Google maps to navigate from the station to the hotel. 3.4 Km.

If you have luggage or are very tired after a flight we suggest to take a taxi from the metro stop to the hotel around 5-10 mins journey. 

The conference hotel has lots of free parking available to conference attendees.

The dress code for the symposium will be casual attire. 

ATMs are found everywhere.  Many smaller stores only accept cash. Most restaurants accept credit cards, but we recommend you ask them in advance to avoid surprises.

For Portugal there are two associated plug types, types C and F. Plug type C is the plug which has two round pins and plug type F is the plug which has two round pins with two earth clips on the side. Portugal operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz.
